Railway architect Sybold Van Ravesteyn designed this detached house in 1932 for his own family. He wanted to build a house with modest means in which it was pleasant to live and work. He experimented combining wavy lines and curly shapes with straight and clear style elements of the “New Building” movement. The house is just a stone’s throw away from the famous Rietveld Schröder house.
This is a limited three scene version of the full 360-degree project, which is available for visitors at the house, now owned by Hendrick de Keyser Monuments. It’s presented with a tablet for people who cannot go upstairs, and also to conveniently point out details. Audio guide and images are all included in the project.
