Soon after the factory, designed by Van der Vlugt and Wiebenga, was completed in 1931, Le Corbusier described the factory as “the most beautiful spectacle of the modern age”. It is certainly a prime example of “Het Nieuwe Bouwen“, as Modernism was called in the Netherlands. One of the directors, Mr Sonneveld, had his own house built in Rotterdam in the same style, it’s also available as 360 degree project.
In this 360 degree project you can also look inside two of the iconic steel and glass bridges, normally not accessible to the public.
